The Guild of Artists & Artisans Returns for Signature Event
Perrysburg, Ohio, July 28, 2015... The charming Town Center at Levis Commons in Perrysburg, Ohio is transformed into an amazing outdoor art gallery when it hosts the 11th Annual Levis Commons Fine Art Fair on Saturday and Sunday, August 15 and 16. The highly acclaimed, open-air event is presented by the Guild of Artists & Artisans. Admission and parking are free. Fair hours are Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fairgoers can visit LevisCommonsFineArtFair.com for up-to-date event information.
More than 130 professional artists from across the country will show their work at this juried event. Featured artwork includes ceramics, glass, painting, drawing, multi-media, sculpture, photography, fiber, leather, wood, jewelry and more.
The featured artist at this year’s Levis Commons Fine Art Fair is Becky Crane from North Ridgeville, Ohio. Becky is a self-taught papercutting artist and woodcarver who has been developing her artwork for more than ten years. Her beautiful and unique hand cut images concentrate on nature and animal themes; her recent work employs a 3-D effect that is mesmerizing. Her work is featured on this year’s official Levis Commons Art Fair poster.
Also participating in this year's Levis Commons Fine Art Fair is Katie Hofacker of Powell, Ohio, who was selected as the 2015 featured artist for the award-winning Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair. She uses resin, gel gloss, photo transfers and acrylic paint to create her images that seem like a throwback to an age before Photoshop when photographers were experimenting with photo manipulation by hand. Her work was featured in the official Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair poster.
The Levis Commons Fine Art Fair also features a free children’s art activity center presented by the Toledo School for the Arts. TSA students will help children with several fun art activities. Face painting will also be offered free of charge. Adjacent to the children’s area TSA Artisan’s Guild (TAG) will have a booth of items for sale created by students in this year’s summer program.
“We are delighted to bring the Levis Commons Fine Art Fair to our community for the 11th year,” said Casey Pogan, marketing director with The Town Center at Levis Commons, Hill Partners, Inc. “The fair has become a must-attend event in Northwest Ohio, and every year the quality of the art surpasses our expectations. You can see the passion and creativity of the artists in every piece.”
The fair is produced by The Guild of Artists & Artisans, the same group behind the prestigious Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair.
“The Guild’s mission is to help cultivate an appreciation for unique, hand-crafted artwork,” said Debra “Max” Clayton, Guild executive director. “The art fair is a special opportunity for those who value original artwork to meet the artists and learn more about their inspiration and techniques. Meeting the artist gives the artwork purchase deeper meaning. In addition, we find that both the artists and fairgoers enjoy the entertaining atmosphere of The Town Center, with its outstanding retail and restaurants. It’s a fun day for the entire family.”
