Heels For Healing

Hairy Legs.  Big Feet.  High Heels. A Great Cause!

Heels For Healing Is Friday October 20th at Levis Commons

PERRYSBURG, OH (October 13, 2017) –What do you get when 20+ men slip their feet into high heels and walk around Levis Commons? A really FUN and FUNNY way to raise FUNDS!

Friday October 20th from 6:00pm-7:00pm is Heels For Healing, a fundraiser to benefit families affected by addiction.  Over 20 local men from the community, including Rick Woodell from 101.5 The River, Toledo Writer Jeremy Baumhower, local movie producer Michael Cullen, several business owners, and even Spider-Man will be wearing high heels and walking a little taller to raise money for two local charities involved with the opiate epidemic in Ohio.  Team Recovery and their family outreach program FAAD, and Friends of Lucas County Children Services will receive all proceeds from the event and be in attendance with educational information.

“The fight against drugs in our community is really scary” said Levis Commons Marketing Director Allison Schroeder. “We want to invite people out to a fun event with a very serious message.  Addiction is a family disease in which the whole family is impacted.”  Friends of Lucas County Children Services will use the funds for foster care training and recruitment. The foster care system is currently overwhelmed with children left behind due to drug abuse.  Team Recovery offers drug awareness education and family support groups.

Heels For Healing attendees will not only see these brave guys walk in high heels, but also be challenged to dance, hula-hoop, play corn hole and more…all while wearing heels! The event will include giveaways, information booths including Narcan training, a photo booth and more!
