Winter to Spring Wardrobe Transition

Elevate your spring style!

By Laura Leiva

After a long winter, it’s time to update your wardrobe into lighter pieces.

Over-the-Knee Boots

Spring temperatures are unpredictable! One way to ensure you’re warm and ready when the weather turns is to pair lightweight dresses and skirts with over-the-knee boots for extra (stylish!) protection from the elements. These boots can even be worn with skinny jeans!

Dress in Layers

Even though it’s sunny outside, it could go from warm to cold before you have a chance to change. Wearing a soft sweater with any of your springtime pieces is one way to get more mileage out of your winter wardrobe. Heavy knit sweaters pair exceptionally well with light fabrics like cotton or chiffon.

Blazers are Essential

It’s not cold enough for jackets – but you still need something to keep you warm. Blazers are the perfect solution to both causal and professional outfits until late spring! Leave the parka at home and pair a blazer with a graphic tee, heels, and jeans for a fashion-forward outing.

Lighter denim

Winter is all about dark-wash and deep colors – get more in the spring mood by trading your dark denim in for lighter washes. This goes for denim jackets, as well.

Open-toe Boots

It’s time to put the heavy boots away but not quite time to wear the strappy sandals. Open-toe ankle boots, wedges, and mules are the perfect transition piece because they embrace warmer weather while also keeping feet warm during varying temperatures.

Transitioning from winter to spring is all about mixing up textures and going for brighter colors instead of the heavier, cold-weather apparel. With these options, you’ll have plenty of stylish outfits to look for at the mall that will get you totally in the mood for warmer weather!
